Give Thanks Sign

I'm 30 weeks pregnant and my energy level seems to be becoming less and less each day. So I thought I better get a jump start on my Thanksgiving crafts now before the little guy arrives. I needed a sign for the front door and I thought this would be the perfect project.

I went to the local hardware store and bought a piece of wood, some eye hooks, and wire for around $10.00. I raided my paper stash and was happy to find some scrap fall paper that I had. I used my Cricut to cut out the turkey and hat as well as the Give Thanks words which are done in vinyl rub-on. I had this pumpkin colored craft paint that I muted a little bit with some white and painted the board. I then modge podged the turkey and hat, and then rubbed the vinyl letters on. To finish up the sign my husband helped me attach the eye hooks and wire. I added some raffia for a final touch. I love the sign and I like how it's a little bit different with the colors of the paper and the added texture of the twine on the turkey and hat. I'm really looking forward to Thanksgiving and I can't wait to hang this cutie on my front door.

  1. That's cute and I'm so happy to know that soon I'll be able to do some cute cutouts like that myself. Hehheee I finally bought an electronic die cutting machine. Better late than never right? Thanks for linking up.
