Bucks Vs. Marshall
Football season is in full swing and I was super pumped to be able to attend the season opener against Marshall. It was interesting to be at the game on a Thursday night, but with 105, 000 of your closest Buckeyes under the lights it couldn't of been any better. OSU stomped Marshall with a 45 to 7 victory. Go Bucks and keep it up. I sense national championship this year!

It's been Busy!
Busy seems to be the operative word for what has been going on lately. Hence the length between posts. I don't mind being busy, especially if it's busy for good things. We didn't spend much time home this past weekend and it was nice to be with friends. Chris had his Block O banquet which is held in the recruiting room in the OSU stadium. This room is a Buckeye fans dream. Huge chairs that look like the football helmets the players wear and an amazing arrangement of pictures surround the room. After the banquet we all headed over to Varsity Club to watch a nail bitter Buckeye basketball game. After two over times they pulled off a win and landed the second seat in March Madness which is super exciting. We then spent Sunday going to church and time with my parents. They brought my grandpas dinning room table to our house and a queen mattress set for the guest room. After all the unloading we headed out to get some wings with some friends and my parents and watch the Buckeyes bring a pounding and a huge win in basketball. A lot of time was spent away from home and that's alright sometimes. Especially since we had a low key weekend the weekend before.
A couple other things that are new is I finally got my 5 year professional teaching license which is a huge weight off my shoulders and hopefully will help land me a job in a public school system next year. Chris and I have decided to go to church every Sunday now and are rotating between the Catholic church and the church his parents go to. It has been interesting to attend the two different services every other week and we have been wanting to have God be a bigger part of our lives. I have also lost some weight and am super excited about that. It brings more motivation and excitement to keep me going to the Y and working out as much as I can. I am also looking forward to summer weather and going on a week long trip to Myrtle Beach. It has been years since I've been to a beach and Chris and I have never been to a beach together. That tells you how long it has been. The vacation is going to be much needed and I am looking forward to getting a nice tan.

Where's Your Famous Atmosphere?
Can I just say that this past weekend was a blasty blast! The weekend started off on Thursday with my 26th birthday. Chris surprised me with a yummy dinner of chicken spaghetti and some guests. It was really sweet of him to cook a great dinner, get my favorite cake from Cold Stone Creamery, and invite some people over, all as a surprise. The beginning of the week was not going so well and I was super pumped that my birthday was such a great day and I got a sweet drinking cup to commence the festivities to come.

Thursday was my Friday because Chris and I took Friday off to head over to Penn State. I was really looking forward to this trip because we were going to see and be with a great group of people whom we don't get to see very often. After arriving at the hotel and greeted with a blown up Brutus in the window which belonged to non other then the Saad's, we unpacked and geared up for a group dinner at Outback Stake House. A big group of us decked out in Buckeye gear and smack dab in the middle of a Penn State fan base restaurant was great. We know how to represent the Bucks! After our dinner and an evening of hanging out with everyone we all went to bed for an early wake-up call to kick off our tailgate.
After a nine-car lineup and about 20 people we arrived at our tailgate spot. Can I just say that we had a pretty freaking cool tailgate! We had everything up and ready in a matter of 10 minutes. Coolers full of beer, food out, flags up, music blaring, and the grill going, it was fantastic!

We spent the next five hours drinking, drinking, eating, playing thunder struck, oh and drinking some more. I had an awesome time hanging out with the group and getting pumped up for the game to come. It has been a long time since I've done so much drinking and I was feeling great by noon. What made it even greater are the company I was with and the fact that mostly everybody was feeling the same way. After all of the drinking and tailgating festiveness we managed to make it to the big Erector set of a stadium and prepare for an ass whooping on Penn State.

Our seats were actually pretty good. I didn't mind being two rows from the top and closer to the blimp then the field.

It allowed us to see and experience everything and stand the whole time without bothering anybody. The fan's that came to support the Bucks were great. Super loud, super festive, and full of energy. I was interested in experiencing the infamous whiteout

and although they were loud and did have the numbers, it soon died down when the Bucks started to kick butt. The famous atmosphere started to disappear and the more the bucks scored the quieter the Penn State fans got and the more they started to leave. This met that our fans could be heard more and at one time we were so loud that the Buckeyes were dancing to our songs and they were on the other side of the stadium. The game was amazing and kept us on our feet the whole time. I am glad that we got to go and will never forget all the singing, dancing, drinking, and jumping up and down that we did in that stadium. So Penn State where's your famous atmosphere? It sure wasn't there when the Bucks were in town!!

The road trip definitely will be at the top of my list for fun and awesome Buckeye games. It was a weekend full of fun and laughter and great people. It all came to an end with breakfast at Cracker Barrel with Cole topped off with frosty mugs of chocolate milk.
Until next time and when we all meet again, go Bucks!

Purdue Trip
Another weekend has come and gone and with that came another Buckeye trip, this time to Purdue. The weekend started with high hopes and a pretty much guaranteed feeling that the Bucks would pull off a win. The feeling quickly went away after half time of the game. Despite the loss and the annoying cheer of "Boiler Up, Woo, Woo" I still had a great time and enjoyed spending another weekend away and another game with Chris. We had pretty good seats. Our section was in the end zone under the score board and had mostly OSU fans. It was great to be around other screaming fans for the Bucks and everyone decked out in their OSU gear.
We started to day off at the Buckeye Bash and had some catered hot breakfast and waited for Brutus and the cheerleaders.

We had a great picture opportunity with Brutus again but our camera decided not to work at the time. Come to find out the batteries I put in were not functioning correctly. Note to self: do not buy a pack of batteries at the Dollar Store for your camera, they don't work. After the bash we headed over to the stadium to get out our seats. Outside the stadium the OSU semi truck, which carries all their gear, was parked and Chris and I had our picture taken using my phone by a nice lady.

The quality isn't as good as a camera but it still gets the job done. The truck is pretty cool looking and it goes to show just how much gear is needed for a football team to play. We got to our seats

and waited for the worlds largest base drum to take the field with the Purdue band and their little train that drives out on the field when the team runs out. The train is rather cute looking even though their cheer and whistle noise is very annoying. After tons of cheering, jumping up and down, and waving our pom poms, the Bucks still lost. I know you can't win them all, but this was not the game to loose. The team was ranked 7 and now has dropped down to 19. Lets hope we win from here on out to move up in the polls. The disappointment was felt around the stadium with the Buckeye fans and two well known fans, Big Nut and Buckeye Guy, stood stunned against the fence at the end of the game.

You can see with their body language the disappointment felt by all. It was however, only one game with many mistakes and I'm hoping they have learned from this and next week will be a different story.
After the game Chris and I headed back to my parents house to spend the evening with them and to see Sloopy. On Sunday we then packed up and headed home. After some laundry, lesson planning, and dinner with the in-laws, we relaxed and enjoyed the rest of the evening. Chris and Sloopy enjoyed their Sunday evening quiet well.
It was a great trip and still have one more road trip this season to attend. We are going to Penn State the first weekend of November and I'm wondering how much snow they will have. This past weekend they already had 8 inches. Could it be 1 foot by then? Who knows, but it's going to be an awesome time with some fun people who I've not seen in a while.

Hoosier Daddy? The Bucks Are!
My second road game has come and gone, but it was a blast and I loved every minute of it. It was nice to get away with Chris, do some traveling, and cheer on the Bucks to a victory together. We don't get to attend very many games together because of Chris ushering the home games. It's nice to finally attend a game together as it's been a long time. The ride over went great and the hotel we stayed at was an hour away from the stadium. It was a cute, quaint hotel and there were other Buckeyes staying there to. We arrived at a decent time and parked at the very edge of the stadium out front by the road because parking was already full. It worked out when it came time to leave because being so close to the road we were able to hop on and head out. As part of our package we purchased for the game we attended a tailgate hosted by the alumni society. They had catered food, free pom poms, peppy music playing, and Brutus and the cheerleaders stopped by. Chris and I have been together for almost 7 years and have attended so many OSU sporting events that it's hard to keep track of, and this was the first time we were finally able to take a picture with Brutus!

The tailgate also had a raffle and trivia questions. Chris answered a question and received an OSU alumni pin and a collapsible cooler. We spent a couple of hours at the tailgate and then headed over to the stadium.
We had great seats and happy that we were sitting on top of our section's entrance in the front, and therefore didn't have to have anybody sitting in front of us. Chris and I cheered our hearts out and I was impressed with all the Buckeye fans there. Buckeyes travel well and we definitely had the majority of the fans in the stadium. The only downside to our section of fans is they were mostly older people and didn't do much cheering. Chris and I made sure to make up for the lack of cheering coming from the grey hairs.
The Buckeyes prevailed again and won the game. We had some awesome plays and Indiana had numerous penalty flags, which aided in our victory. With the game complete, all the fans singing Carmen Ohio at the end of the game,

and a victory, it was a successful road trip and am looking forward to the Purdue game coming up in two weeks. Go Bucks!

Garmin led the way.

Our view from our seats. The stadium, although smaller, was a pretty neat stadium on the inside.

We are ready to cheer and root the Bucks to a victory.

Go Bucks! Chris with the super poms!

Some Buck fans with sweet hats. I love the Shoe hat!

The Bucks are victorious and celebrating the victory!

Amazing..
One word Amazing! That is what I would use to describe my experience and fun I had on Saturday for the OSU game. Yes, we all know that the bucks ended up loosing, but this does not take away from the fact that I had an amazing time. The day started around 3:00 with Chris and I hitting up a tailgate before the game. With Chris being an usher he has to be in the stadium three hours before kickoff to make sure things are in place and to assist fans to their seats. With only two hours of tailgating time together we made the most of it. With some fun buckeye fans we drank to Ohio State with the infamous Buckeye Punch and chatted about what we thought the outcome of the game was going to be. Chris then headed to the stadium and I headed over to another tailgate to meet up with a friend. This tailgate was jazzed out. They had a mini school bus that was painted and decked out in OSU colors and emblems. It was stocked with three kegs and had an enormous flat screen tv connected to satellite to watch other college football games. They also had enough food to feed an army. It was a great place to hang out before trying to find tickets. My friend Angie and I did not have tickets because everywhere we looked they were extremely expensive. We decided we would wait until a few minutes before kick off to see if we could scalp some tickets outside of the stadium. Our waiting, and luck, paid off because we scored some amazing seats. We were in section 28AA and only 7 rows from the field. We got a great deal on the tickets and managed to make it to our seats before kickoff started. The seats, oh man the seats! They were amazing and so close. You could almost see the sweat on the football players faces and hear the helmets hitting. The stadium atmosphere was like non other. The lights were up, the seats were packed, and the noise was out of control. We did not sit the whole came and we screamed so hard I lost my voice. We set a new stadium record with close to 107,000 fans and were even amazed to see Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn made it to the game. It was the best football game I've ever attended and can't wait to experience this type of atmosphere again. I know it was a bummer that they lost, but that evening, that crowd, and that excitement was out of this world and I would not trade that experience for anything. I will always be a Buckeye fan and am looking forward to the next game. Win or loose, OSU has a fan in me!
Here are a few pictures from my amazing OSU evening.
The band finishing up the Star Spangled Banner and preparing for the team.
OSU and USC setting up the next play. OSU is preparing for a touchdown. Look how close they are!!
Did they get it? They did! Touchdown OSU!
It's Will Ferrell. Boo being in a USC shirt, but it was fun watching him ham it up with Thad Matta on the scoreboard.
After the game we went to the great Frank, Block O tailgate.
I end this post with two video clips from the game. Turn up your volume and experience the roar and mayhem inside the Horseshoe. Go Bucks!

Go Bucks!
On the banks of the mighty Olentangy river lies the Horseshoe---Ohio Stadium, home, of The Ohio State Buckeyes! This is were I spent my Saturday and was super excited to be in attendence at the season opener against Navy. I took my mom to the game with me and we decked our selves out in buckeye gear and headed down to the shoe. Chris ushers all the home games so he gets in free to the game and stands in the Block O student section. While he reported for duty, mom and I headed over to Varsity Club and took part in some liqued breakfast. After some tastey fuzzy navels we headed out to Lane Ave and veturend around before the game. I bought myself a nut necklace, which I'm suprprised I've not had one until now and we had a snack before heading to the shoe. Our tickets were in 16B. They were actually really good seats and we had plenty of leg room. The only down side is we were not able to see the fly over that took place before the game because C deck hangs out over B deck. But, we were in the shade all day. Mom and I cheerd our lungs out and rooted on the Buckeyes with 105,095 of our closest friends. After a nail bitter of an ending, no voice, and deaf in my right ear from all the screaming, we headed over to Chris' section to take some pictures and meet up before heading home. It was an awesome day and super Buckeye filled fun. I can't wait for the next game and for whats to come in the Buckeye Season.
Before the game mom and I sat down by a tree and waited for the band to march over to the stadium.
On our walk to the stadium I snapped some pictures of the outside of the Shoe. This is an amazing stadium!
Stading outside the stadium waiting for the band to march in.
The bucks pumping themselves up before the game.
The OSU marching band and alumni taking the field before the game. I don't think you could fit another person on the field. The oldest alumni marching was 92 years old!
The band and the alumni band peformed 4 script Ohio's at one time. This year John Glenn dotted one of the i's. Enjoy the video clip of script Ohio!
When the third quarter is over the band plays Hang on Sloopy and then breaks up into little groups and plays songs around the stadium. We had some drummers and cheerleaders come to our section. It gets everybody super pumped up!
After the game we took some pictures were Chris ushers at. He has an awesome view each game and a fun section to be in. I love how the band is in the background to.
