A P-Day +

Today Chris and I took personal days and it was much needed. Things have been stressful at our jobs lately and it seems that lately when we come home from our jobs we have more things to vent about then we do to be glad about. We decided to treat ourselves to a three day weekend. I think that everyone should take a personal day just because once in awhile and it does help to relieve some stress. I slept in which was amazing and then we headed to the movies to finally see Avatar. I wasn't sure if it would be something that I'd like because I'm not into Sci-Fi very much. I was pleasantly surprised with the movie and thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially in 3-D. I love how everyone looks in the goofy glasses and the 3-D brings a whole new life to the movies. After the movie we headed home for some dinner and then decided to cap the evening off with some ice cream from Coldstone. We treated ourselves to yummy ice cream and I was excited to have my favorite flavor which is Birthday Cake Remix. The movie and ice cream was a much needed stress reliever type of day and we greatly enjoyed it. The good news is we still have two days left in our weekend to continue the recharging and distressing before the next week begins.

Thank Goodness for the Long Weekend $

This past weekend I felt under the weather and did not want to get out of my pajamas. It started Friday with a fever and aches and continued through the weekend. Saturday I started to feel a little better but then woke up Sunday morning feeling blue again. The dreary, rainy weather outside did not help much. I went to the doctors to get some medicine and after a lot of lounging in my pajamas and going to bed early I woke up today feeling better. I'm glad I had an extra day off this weekend for MLKJ day and even though I didn't get to utilize the long weekend for fun I'm glad I got sick over this weekend and did not have to miss any school. I was thinking while spending most of the weekend in my pajamas and under the weather what I could do to keep my mind busy instead of watching tv the whole time. I decided to update my blog and change some things around. I downloaded a digital kit from Kevin and Amanada's blog and sat down and created my header. I used print shop to do the layering and it didn't take to long to do. The site also has super cute fonts which I downloaded. I like the new simple look. I think I will be spending more time working on digital scrapbooking and layouts. I'm starting to really get into more things related to technology. I also am feeling better and ready to start a new week of teaching at school.

A Jammie Day

Today we decided to have a jammie day. Have you ever had one of those? It's always nice once in awhile to take a day and stay in your favorite comfy jammies. Today suited jammie day perfectly. We have about 8 inches of snow on the ground and the temperature outside is only 18 degrees.

We've stayed in, hunkered down in our snuggies and have been watching some tv and doing a little laundry and lesson planning.

But, for the most part, it's been relaxing. Through all the hectics of life and the busy fast pace of the week, it's great to have a day of jammies, snuggies, warmth, and each other. It has been a wonderful end to an unexpected three day weekend do to snow. I feel recharged and ready to gear up for another week of teaching. I highly recommend to everyone to have yourself a jammie day.
